Exploring City Church

This 2-week class is designed to lay out the theological foundations of the church while also providing opportunity for questions and discussion.

At City Church we believe partnership rather than membership better defines Biblically what a relationship with the local church should look like.  As Colin Marshall and Tony Payne describe in their book, Trellis and the Vine,

"In our society, when you join as a 'member' of something, it can have connotations of passivity and consumerism.  I join a club, and expect certain benefits.  The 'partnership' language, on the other hand, communicates immediately that we are signing up for active involvement - for being partners together in a great enterprise: the gospel mission of Christ."  [66-67]

With that the outline of the classes is as follows as we seek to allow our doctrines to inform our practices together: The Journey towards Partnership
