Our Sunday Meeting

As we come to know and love the good news of Jesus Christ, Sunday becomes an opportunity to gather together and express our heartfelt gratitude and love Him and thus at City Church, our Sunday Service really is a highlight of our week.

Firstly, we come together to sing to God as a way of acknowledging and proclaiming together God's promises. We begin the meeting at 3:30PM with 30-35 minutes of singing with songs focused on the good news of Jesus Christ. During this time we will also pause to confess our need for God, pray for each other and through the use of the spiritual gifts, bring verses and words of encouragement.  We also break from singing once a month and take time at the start of our service to pray for our city and each other and here stories of answers to prayer.

Secondly, we come together to be refreshed by His presence, encouraged by His promises, and transformed by His truth. So it is not only worship that we gather for, but preaching. Each message usually lasts for about 45 minutes and invariably, whatever the topic, we always make our way to the Cross because Jesus is the foundation and the power of the Christian life.

Thirdly, we come together to enjoy genuine biblical friendships. At the end of the meeting, 5:00pm, we have tea & coffee available in the foyer and the majority of folk just stay and hang-out for a while and enjoy each others company. From a distance the conversations may look no different to the norm but to get close you’d see that folk are caring for one-another through conversation, encouragement, prayer and often much laughter.

We also take time once a month for a fellowship meal after church for a purposeful time to catch up and even invite co-workers, neighbors and classmates to join us for a great meal together.
